ANCESTOR ALTAR BOX AND KIT

 Your altar is an anchor for the departed spirits of those ancestors who have taken on the responsibility of protecting you and your family in the hopes of passing on their wisdom and guidance to future generations. An ancestor altar serves as an external expression of the internal relationship you have with your ancestors. You act as the conduit which receives the messages, visions, and insights from your ancestors, allowing them to “speak again”. 

    Building and maintaining a functioning altar is central to the practice of African American spirituality because it functions as the nexus point between the physical world and the world of spirit. All of the magic that is found in the practice of hoodoo, rootwork and conjure is only as strong as your communication with the spirits of your ancestors, they influence everything. Through consistent work your ancestor altar you may be able to gain the wisdom of your ancestor’s experiences in life.
